CLASS 2A SUB-STATE AT TREGO BRACKET

It was the "Night of the Ringnecks" as the Hill City girls and boys each earned a berth in the state tournament with a pair of wins over the Ellis Railers in WaKeeney Saturday night. The Lady Ringnecks provided an aerial display of outside shooting prowess in cruising to a 63-48 victory over the Lady Railers. On the boys' bracket, overtime was the story and the game lived up to fantastic expectations, but free throws down the stretch doomed the Ellis boys as Hill City held on for a 48-47 win.
